Gold Ring Workshop 19 October 2019
The ancient craft of jewellery making is as fascinating as it is fun. Join us to master a new craft and make your very own delicate band of gold reclaimed from circuit boards.
This workshop takes on a slightly different format to our ring carving workshops. Using traditional metalsmithing techniques you will create a 1.2mm by 1.2mm 9K gold ring which you will take home with you at the end of the session.
During the course of the workshop you will learn how to shape, sand, solder and polish your own version of our popular Simple Band.
This is a beginners workshop, absolutely no experience is required.
Date: Saturday 19 October 2019
Time: 10am to 1pm
Venue: Our studio; 302 Albert Road, Woodstock
Ticket Price: R1500 per person which includes all the materials as well as tea and cake.
*Just a little heads up, because of the small size of our workshops and the organization required purchased tickets are neither refundable nor transferable.
I enjoyed the workshop, it was really well done, with guidance at every step. Ashley was a good teacher and very patient, helping us to make our masterpieces. I would have liked to melt the gold myself and shape the bar, but perhaps that would be for a longer lesson. Overall, quite enjoyable.
These workshops are so enjoyable. Such a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. It’s a beautiful space to learn a creative skill. Ashley is full of simple and effective tips. Can’t wait for my next one- can never have enough rings!
